Managing Background Checks with Vetty



Keeping your community and ministry safe is a top priority, especially when working with children and vulnerable populations. A secure background check process is essential.

We've partnered with Vetty, a trusted, leading provider, to make this process simple, secure, and fully integrated with your EvangelOS platform.

Step 1: Connecting Your Vetty Account

Before you can order checks, you must first connect your existing Vetty account to EvangelOS.

  1. Click on your organization's name in the top-right corner and select  Church Settings.

  2. Navigate to the Integrations tab.

  3. Find Vetty in the list of available integrations and click "Connect."

  4. The system will guide you to authorize the connection by logging in to your Vetty account or providing an API key. This is a secure, one-time setup.

Step 2: How to Order a Background Check

Once Vetty is connected, you can request a new check directly from a member's profile.

  1. Navigate to the "Members" page from the main menu and click on the person you want to screen (for example, a new volunteer).

  2. On their Member Profile, find and click on the "Background Checks" tab.

  3. Click the "Go to Background Checks" button.

  4. You will be brought to the Background Check page where you will click "Initiate Background Check" to start the process

  5. Select which volunteer you want to order a background check

  6. Select the Vetty background check package you wish to run (e.g., "Vetty Basic," etc).

  7. Once you submit, EvangelOS and Vetty handle the rest. The member will be securely contacted by Vetty to provide their consent and information.

Step 3: Checking the Status of a Request

You can monitor the status of all background checks in two key places:

  • On the Member Profile: The "Background Checks" tab on the member's profile will show the status of their specific check (e.g., "Pending," "In Progress," "Clear," or "Flagged").

  • On the Main Dashboard: Your main "Background Checks" page provides a secure dashboard. This shows you a list of all background checks across your entire organization, making it easy to manage compliance for your whole team at a glance.

This integration is designed to give you peace of mind and make your safety and compliance workflow as efficient as possible.
