Setting Up Online Giving (Stripe)

Setting Up Online Giving (Stripe)

Allowing your community to give online, on your website, or through the Member Portal is a key part of modern ministry. We've made this process simple and secure by partnering with Stripe, a global leader in online payments.

By connecting your Stripe account, you can securely process one-time and recurring donations, as well as payments for event registrations, all with the full confidence that your financial data is being handled securely.

How to Connect Your Stripe Account

Only users with Admin permissions can set up the Stripe integration.

  1. Navigate to your Settings by clicking your organization's name in the top-right corner and selecting Settings.

  2. Click on the Integrations tab.

  3. Find Stripe in the list of available integrations (it may be under "Financial") and click the "Connect" button.

The Stripe Onboarding Process

After you click "Connect," you will be taken to a secure page hosted by Stripe to begin the onboarding process. This is a one-time setup.

  • If You Already Have a Stripe Account: You will be prompted to log in to your existing Stripe account to authorize the connection.

  • If You Are New to Stripe: You will be guided through creating a new Stripe account for your church. This process will involve:

    • Providing your basic church information.

    • Providing your church's tax ID (EIN) and banking details (for receiving your deposits).

    • Setting up the primary administrator for the account.

This process is handled entirely by Stripe, ensuring that EvangelOS never sees or stores your sensitive bank account or financial details. We are simply, and securely, "shaking hands" with their platform.

After You Connect

Once you have completed the Stripe setup, you will be automatically returned to your EvangelOS settings page. You should now see that your Stripe integration is "Connected" and active.

That's it! Your platform is now ready to receive online donations. Your giving forms and event registration pages will now be fully functional.

What's Next?

Online giving is now set up, but you also need a way to manage your offline giving (like cash and checks). Our next guide, "How to Manage Giving Batches," will show you how to use our simple batch entry tools to keep all your giving records in one place.
