Understanding Membership & Demographics Analytics

Understanding Membership & Demographics Analytics

Who makes up your community? How is your church growing? The Membership & Demographics Analytics section of your dashboard helps you answer these questions with clear, simple charts.

This guide will walk you through the key metrics, helping you see who your community is and how it's changing over time.

How to Access Your Membership Analytics

  1. Navigate to "Reporting & Analytics" from the main navigation menu on the left.

  2. On the main dashboard, you will see the "Membership Analytics" and "Demographics Analytics" sections (these may be sets of charts or a specific tab).

  3. As always, use the Filter Toolbar at the top of the page to set your date range (e.g., "Last Year") to see the most relevant data.

Key Metrics and Charts You'll See

This part of your dashboard is broken into two key areas:

1. Membership Analytics This section focuses on your church's growth trends.

  • Total Members: A clear "headline" number showing the total number of members in your database.

  • New Members: See how many new people have been added in the time frame you selected.

  • Membership Over Time: This is a bar or line chart that shows your total member count growing month by month or year by year. It's the best way to visualize your church's growth.

2. Demographics Analytics This section helps you understand who your members are. You'll see simple charts (like pie charts or bar graphs) that break down your entire membership by:

  • Age: See the age ranges of your community (e.g., how many children, youth, adults, and seniors).

  • Gender: See the gender breakdown of your members.

  • Location: You may also see charts showing where your members live, often broken down by city or zip code.

These simple reports are your partner in understanding your community's makeup, which can help you make confident decisions about your ministry focus and outreach.
